RIZON TAKES HAWAII

Hawaii...home to mountainous beaches, 'authentic luaus', tube sock dads and Jurassic Park! The oh so coveted vacation spot has become our now favorite studio. SPOILER ALERT - It was nothing like the "Saved By The Bell - Hawaiian Style" BUT there's many outweighing positives! How can we share our Oahu experience with you? We considered spilling how Hawaii changed our lives forever, leaving no emotional volcanic rock unturned. Don't worry, here's what you need to know:

To borrow stats from Think Dero's Hawaii blog:  The production called for a 5 day shoot, 10 locations and 30 models. Goals: provide photos for this next year's web/print campaign and capture enough footage for numerous projects.

Cue the Chicago Bulls warm up music! Here's our all star lineup: Producer: Louise Salas, Stills: Steven Veach, Video: Dero Sanford & Chris DellaPace, Casting/Stylist: Brooke Duszota, PA: Justin Bolle. The specific 'lifestyle' art direction we received requires long sunrise to sunset days of utilizing sunlight. Waking up before the sunrise becomes easier when you have Hawaiian scenery. We'd rather our images do the talking so we rounded up a few 'behind the scenes' phone shots:

Less than a month after our shoot, Palm Beach Tan released a national 30 second spot for 'Free Tan Week' (WATCH BELOW).

Doing great work while making friends along the way is what you can expect from our crew. Our companies seamlessly came together for such a large project and proudly knocked it out! Major thanks to the Archer Malmo team and Palm Beach Tan for creating a warm environment with positive attitudes. Maybe you have questions about our creative process or simply curious where we ate. No matter the question, feel free to contact us from our website. Keep watch for our work!

Still thirsty for more??? Ok ok. Here's our 'just because' album.

TO THE CLOUDS!

Today is a super fun day at Rizon! Our Phantom 2 drone is finally here and it's like Christmas morning (not that there's anything wrong with Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.). After a few crashes we're learning how to fly like Jordan. This machine is a thing of beauty! Good thing we're not huge gamers or we'd be fighting an uphill battle of Cheetos-stained remote controllers. Here's to the first day with our neighborhood friendly drone. CHEERS!

RIZON ON USA TODAY POP CANDY

Our very own Chris DellaPace & Jared Hankins directed The Coasts new music video, I Just Wanna Be A Star. The Coasts, with Old Flame Records, released their new album 'Racilia' on May 20, 2014. The band was interested in collaborating with Chris before the album drop, so for a couple of months Chris joined band meetings at their usual late night spot, Waffle House in Cabot, AR. The extremely creative duo, Ike Peters (guitar) & Eric Mount (drums), brainstormed concepts with Chris & eventually sharpened what the video is today. Chris said he really wanted to bring out their 60's garage band sound, but still be able to make their concept work. We can't forget to mention our super hero, Ellis! Take after take, Ellis brought energy & true showmanship, clothed in a cape. After practicing this song for months, his hard efforts have paid off. Not many 4-year-olds can say their music video premiered on USA Today Pop Candy. Enjoy the music. Enjoy the video. That's what it's about.

A DAY IN THE VENICE OFFICE

Here's a quick snap shot in a typical day in the Venice office. This month we had some fun interviews lined up, but it's also important to soak up inspiration to keep our work evolving. QUICK PLUG: For visual updates on our whereabouts you can follow us on Instagram. Here's a look into our latest trip.

A DAY WITH THE DUDE

No Kid Hungry is a campaign of the Share Our Strength nonprofit, striving to end child hunger in America. They're attacking the source by getting nutritional programs in schools to feed & educate children. Jeff Bridges, also responds to The Dude, is a spokesperson who's been fighting hunger issues for about 25 years. This is where Rizon could help. We filmed and mic'd up Jeff as he visited Stephens Elementary School to see the "Breakfast After The Bell" program in action. After that, he was teaching morning calisthenics involving fruit and vegetables...probably our best memories of the day. Later, Jeff and Billy Shore shared No kid Hungry's message in the State Convention Center along side Governor Mike Beebe. Our crew then moved to Walmart to shoot Cooking Matters education, then toured around to see how aftercare/summer programs are using No Kid Hungry meal plans.

Jeff Bridges was a ton of fun to work with even if we kept thinking:

 "...you're out of your element!"
